Margaret "Mickie" Thomas' Obituary
Mickie Thomas, beloved mother, bonus mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 08, 2025, of natural causes at her home at Crandall Medical Center, surrounded by her son Tony, his wife Kelly, and Mickie’s granddaughter Kelli.
She was born June 07, 1949 to Lora Elizabeth (Carroll) Favazzo and Calvin Cecil Beckett and was lovingly raised by Joseph (JoJo) Favazzo.
Mickie was preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Gat” Thomas; her parents Lora and JoJo Favazzo; her biological father, Calvin Beckett; her sons Jerry Pasco Jr. and Craig Thomas; her daughter Sheri Pasco-Windland; daughter-in-law Tammy Thomas; and her brothers Dan “Toad” Favazzo and Billy Favazzo; and sister Kathy Jo Favazzo.
She is survived by her sons Tony (Kelly) Pasco, Chad Thomas, and Brian Thomas; her son-in-law Tim Windland; her daughter Kim (Dean) Kuszmaul; daughter-in-law Elaine Thomas; grandchildren Kelli (Andy), Daniel, Payshunze, Ryan, Zachary, Kyle, Sydney, Maggie, Zachary (Em), Coty, Donnie, Joshua (Katelyn), Alicia (James), Craig (Jesselyn), Maila, and Deidre; and great-grandchildren Briar, Joliene, Paul, Donnie, Austin, Josie, Hazel, Anna, and Griffin; sister Rosie (John) Lamp; brothers David (Tammye) Favazzo and Joseph (Ginny) Favazzo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a part of her strength, humor, and love.
Throughout her life, Mickie took on many different careers and roles, but one of her greatest joys was bartending and cooking for others. Whether it was behind the counter at Shaffer’s Diner or The Dante, or directing the family kitchen as thousands of meatballs and pots of sauce simmered, she poured love into everything she made. Even when she could no longer cook herself, she made sure Tony, Kelly, Dano, and Tonya carried on her delicious tradition—over 10,000 meatballs’ worth of love and laughter.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to all of the aides, nurses, and administration at Copeland Oaks and Crandall Medical Center, with an extra special thanks to Tina Carter in the beauty shop, who became a cherished friend to Mickie during her ten years there and never failed to bring her joy through her kindness, her conversation, and the care she took to keep Mickie’s hair and nails looking beautiful.
Mickie had a heart that knew no boundaries — to her, blood was never thicker than water. There was no “step” or “in-law” in her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, treating them all as family in every sense of the word. Known for her spicy personality and her gift for “telling it like it is,” Mickie never hesitated to speak her mind — and you always knew where you stood with her. She was also the life of every gathering, with a knack for throwing unforgettable parties filled with laughter, music, food, and love.
In lieu of flowers, Mickie’s wishes were that donations be made to Rockin’ Out Cancer https://www.rockinoutcancer.org, in honor of Mickie’s late son Jerry Pasco Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
