Margaret "Mergie" Faulkner's Obituary
Margaret "Mergie" (Luca) Faulkner, 89, of Alliance, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, October 30, 2014. She passed away peacefully at home. Margaret was born in Alliance, Ohio on August 25, 1925 Ohio to George and Julia (Matyiku) Luca. She lived in Alliance for all of her life and graduated from Alliance High School in 1944. Margaret was employed by Galanot Products, Universal Co-0p, and Alliance Manufacturing Co., in which she retired in 1991. She then worked at the Alliance Recycling Center until the age of 85. Margaret loved the Lord and the earth He created. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time with church dinners and cleaning. Margaret enjoyed recycling items that she collected from friends, family and anything she found on her daily walks. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Alliance Senior Center. Margaret will be dearly missed by her grandson, Gary S. (Christina) Faulkner and great-granddaughter, Amber J. Faulkner all of Alliance and with whom she resided. Margaret also leaves behind a sister, Julia Jenkins of Alliance, and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Karen J. Faulkner, and her five brothers, Nicholas, George, Michael, Charles and Steve Luca. A special thank you goes to Alliance Visiting Nurses and Hospice for the wonderful care our grandmother received. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Funeral Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 11:30 am, at with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
