Margaret A. (Marini) Conny's Obituary
Margaret A. (Marini) Conny, 91, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 12:29 pm at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on October 1, 1922 in Alliance, Ohio to Angelo and Emma (Rinaldi) Marini, she lived in Alliance for all of her life. A graduate of Alliance High School, she received further education from Alliance Business College. Margaret retired from Charter One Bank, formerly Industrial Federal Savings & Loan Assoc., after 26 years of service; she had been employed with them from 1961-1987. She was formerly employed at Eynon-Guthrie R.E. Insurance from 1941-1955 as a Licensed Insurance Agent. She was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and of their Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Alliance YWCA, Alliance Chamber of Commerce, Women's Division, Alliance Women's Club, Catholic Women's Club, Mt. Union Women's Club, B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467, Ladies Auxiliary and a member of their Degree Team. She had also been a Volunteer for American Red Cross and was a former board member of the Carnation City Festival Board of Directors. Margaret is survived by her husband, Henry P. "Hank" Conny, whom she married on February 15, 1947: her daughter, Janice Conny Menegay and her husband James C. Menegay of Alliance, OH, her son-in-law Daniel (Susan) Windle of Dublin, OH; brother-in-law, Robert O Brien of Toledo, OH; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Menegay of Alliance, Jeremy (Dana) Menegay of Uniontown, Victoria Emma Windle and Kristina Conny Windle of Dublin; 4 great-granddaughters, Molly, Leah, Mya & Emma; also step-grandchildren, Libby, Maggie & Rachel Butler of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert D. Conny & an infant son; her daughter Margaret "Peggy" Conny Windle; and her sister, Livia O'Brien. Special thanks to Margaret s caregiver, Patty Wiland. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:00 pm, with Msgr. James Kolp as Celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
