M. A. Hill's Obituary
M. A. Hill, 71, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 4:30 a.m. at Akron General Hospital, following a short illness. He was born on May 17, 1935 in Courtland, Alabama and lived in Alliance for 40 years. Mr. Hill retired from the Sobel Container Co. in Maple Heights, Ohio where he was employed as a machine operator for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Linton) Hill; four daughters, Tami Hill of Alliance, Kelsi Cathey of Alliance, Linda Burgett Hill of Indiana and Debbie Scott of Indiana; six grandchildren, Amanda Cathey, Alden Hill, Dalton Cathey, Joe Hill, Nicole Hill and Shane Sott; six sisters, Odell Speegle, Barbara Terrell, Willard Ellenburg, Patricia Rikard, Judy Smith and Catherine Terry, all of Alabama; three brothers, Charles Hill, Gaines Hill, Jr. and Lester Hill, all of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Gaines and Dessie (Terry) Hill, Sr.; two sisters, Betty Roberts and Jewell Kirby; and two brothers, Sherman Hill and Chester Hill. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio on Saturday with Mr. Hill s nephew, who is a minister, Jackie Hill, officiating.
