Lucille Elizabeth (Miller) Gobeli's Obituary
Lucille Elizabeth (Miller) Gobeli, 87, of Alliance, died on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 9:10 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Lucille was born in Alliance on September 1, 1918, and lived most of her life in Alliance, spending the last two years at Alterra Sterling House. She was a life member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Gobeli taught at Lexington Elementary School until she retired in 1972. She formerly taught at Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Louisville and she was a member of the Alliance Area Retired Teachers. Lucille was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees #0764, the American Association of Retired Persons #2630, the Marlington Senior Citizens; and the Knox Senior Citizens. She also volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital for five years. Lucille is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (John) McGirr of Naples, Florida; four grandchildren, Jodi (Michael) Petti, Steven McGirr, Louis Galati, and Jennifer (Jason) Acree; three great-grandsons, Stephen Chase McGirr, Dylan Michael Petti, and Kyle Anthony Acree; a sister, Marilyn Minnie (Richard) Bossart of Alliance; a sister-in-law, Jeane Miller of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Gobeli on July 18, 1996, (they were married on November 20, 1941); her parents, Samuel Conrad and Magdalina (Graber) Miller; a daughter, Alyce (Louis) Galati; and two brothers, Charles Miller and Harold Miller. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, June 12, 2006, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Crites, Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
