Lucille Jane Buehler's Obituary
Lucille "Jane" Buehler, 96, of Alliance, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012, at her home. Born on February 21, 1916 in Akron, OH, she lived in Alliance area all of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg. She was a member of their Altar & Rosary Society, Senior Citizens Group and the Festival Committee, in which she was part of the quilting committee. She was also instrumental in establishing the funeral luncheon committee at the church. Jane enjoyed playing cards, dancing, cooking, and gardening. She particularly loved to entertain her family and friends. Survivors include her four daughters, Carole (Ben) Crow of Lexington, SC, Beverly (Frederick) Sternkopf of Caspar, CA; Mary Lou (Gary) Gambill of Columbus, OH, and Sharon Parker of Akron, OH; three sons, Larry (Mary) Buehler, David Buehler and Bruce Buehler, all of Alliance; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 brothers, Tom Chenevey of Louisville and Jim (Joan) Chenevey of Oakland, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Alvin F. Buehler on January 29, 1998, whom she married on December 31, 1938; a daughter, Judy Stubblefield; 1 granddaughter; her parents, Joseph and Josephine (Bresson) Chenevey; 3 sisters, Agnes (Frank) Palosi, Maxine "Mac" (Joe) Kress and Mary who died in infancy; and 4 brothers, Johnny (Kate) Chenevey, Andrew "Gump" (Mary) Chenevey, Tony Chenevey and Richard Chenevey. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2012, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Starr Fox, Jane s daytime caregiver, whom Jane, as well as the family, was so very thankful for & whom Jane loved. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
