Louise J. (Corsi) Sineri's Obituary
Louise Julia (Corsi) Sineri, 94, formerly of Alliance, died on Friday, December 23, 2005, at 10:55 p.m. at Harborside Health Care in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Born in Cleveland on July 16, 1911, she was one of 18 children. She was the third child, first daughter and the first child born in the United States, to Louis and Elvira (Scipione) Corsi. Louise grew up in Cleveland and moved to Alliance when she married Joseph Paul Sineri on June 24, 1932. Mrs. Sineri lived in Alliance most of her life, moving to Cleveland in 1996. Employed as a cook for St. Joseph School, the students at St. Joe's knew "Louise" would sneak an extra helping of their favorite meal to them. She set a place at her table for the homeless who frequently knocked at her door and packaged an additional meal for them. Louise came from a time when women canned food for the winter, sewed clothes for their family, baked, used wringer washers and hung the clothes to dry. She came from a time when acts of kindness came as naturally as taking a meal to the sick or to a family who lost a loved one. An active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Louise gave her wedding gown and veil to the church to be used as vestments and altar cloths when the present St. Joseph Church was newly built. She was a member of The Altar and Rosary Society, The Catholic Women's Club, The Ladies of Dante Alighieri Society, The Ladies of the Christopher Columbus Society and the Roma Club. Fluent in Italian, she would assist those in the community who needed help with correspondence or interpretation. Louise enjoyed bowling and playing cards with family and friends. Surviving family members include daughters, Vera Sineri, Ann Sineri Vojta; sisters, Gloria Aiello, Elizabeth Boschini; brothers, Fred Corsi, Emerick Corsi, Harold Corsi; 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 4 great grandsons, 4 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Sineri on July 14, 1978; her daughter, Mary Louise "Bootsie" (Sineri) Zaina; her son-in-law Ronald B. Zaina,; sisters, Lola Corsi, Ethel Turchi, Irma Langmacher; brothers, Frank Corsi, Lt. Colonel Vincent Corsi, Victor Corsi, Edmund Corsi, Gaston Corsi, Dante Corsi, Rudolph Corsi, Henry Corsi, Louis Corsi, and her parents, Louis and Elvira Corsi. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, from 7 - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Louise will be buried beside her husband, Joe, at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio.
