Louise J. Pittaro's Obituary
Louise Joan Pittaro, 97, of Alliance, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 4:35 p.m. at McCrea Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on February 26, 1916 in Gallitzin, PA, she lived in Alliance most of her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired from Elizabeth s Dress Shop, where she was employed as a saleslady and had previously worked at Royal China in Sebring for many years. Mrs. Pittaro was a member of the former Ladies of the Dante Alighieri Club and had been a volunteer at the Alliance Senior Citizens Center. In her past-time, she enjoyed working word puzzles, reading and her dog, Tinker. Survivors include a sister, Antonia Zana of Sagamore Hills, OH; and several nieces and nephews including her nephew whom she raised, Lt. Col. Ned J. (Linda) Calderone and their three children of Lake of the Hills, IL. Preceding her in death was her husband, Luigi Pittaro on January 14, 1992, whom she married in October of 1953; her parents, August and Pierina (Bono) Marietti; four sisters, Lucy Deets, Frances Dolcini, Theresa Grimm and Beatrice Calderone; and a brother, Morris Marietti. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew Mankowski, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
