Louis D. "Dutch" Specht's Obituary
Louis D. "Dutch" Specht, 72, of Alliance, died on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at 12:06 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1936 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of his life. Louis had been employed as a Foreman for Wade-Youman s and as a Slitter Operator for Sancap Abrasives. He was a U. S. Army National Guard veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Specht was a member of the Roma Society. In his past-time, he enjoyed playing cards, golf, bowling and ping-pong. He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Carl (Mike Kerns) of Alliance; a grandson, Justin Carl; he served as grandpa to Michele, Heidi and Lindsey; and served as great-grandpa to five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (George) Doyle of Alliance and Virginia Zoss of Alliance; four brothers, Charles (Shirley) Specht of Alliance, William (Gloria) Specht of FL, Jack Specht of Alliance and Henry Specht of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife of 47 years, Norma (Carl) Specht on December 8, 2008; his parents, Irving and Jennie Specht; five sisters, Mary Specht, Thelma Vernon, Clara Warboys, Ruth Weiss and Anna Mae Diehl; and a brother, Robert Specht. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph A. Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
