Lottie Marie Doringo's Obituary
Lottie Marie Doringo, 85, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 12:40 am at her home, surrounded by family members, following a long, twelve-year battle with central nervous system vasculitis.
Lottie was born on September 21, 1932 in Canton, and lived in Alliance for most of her life.
An Alliance High School graduate, Lottie was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Lottie was the manager of the Lexington Lounge and later retired as manager of Parkway Lanes Lounge after more than 30 years of service.
Lottie’s greatest passion was her children, grandchildren and her friends. She was known for her vibrant personality, her love of life and her overwhelming compassion for people.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda (Joe) Ciotti of Boardman, Diana (Russell) Austin of Alliance and Donna (Ross) Rocci of Chesterland; her son, Roger (Claudia) Doringo of Alliance; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frantum of Texas; her extended family, Steve and Andrea Doringo and their children; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her former husband, Albert S. Doringo; her daughter, Christine Doringo; her brother, Joe (Jose) Kamil; her very special friend and companion, Karl Reinhardt; her foster parents, John and Gertrude Gulling; and her foster sister, Rita Hines.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
A celebration of Lottie’s life will be held at the Alliance Elks on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The family wants to offer a special thank you to Alliance Hospice, her caregivers, Theresa Huntsman, Jeri Eckman, Mary Philips, Darilyn Shonce, Lisa Ballos, Liz Notman, Bobby Notman, and Dr. Leonard Calabrese at the Cleveland Clinic.
