Lola "Ode" Eddy's Obituary
Lola "Ode" Eddy, 76, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 9:45 a.m. at her home, following a couragous battle with cancer. Born on February 19, 1936 in Ironton, OH, she lived in Alliance most of her life. She retired as Plant Manager from the Longaberger Basket Co., in Hartville, where she had been employed for many years. In her past-time, she loved playing "Keno". She also enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, crocheting & reading. But she especially loved spending time with her family. Survivors include three daughters, Dena C. Porter, Bonnie L. Hall and Sharon A. (Charles) Vance, all of Alliance; a son, John M. Hall of Alliance; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a son, Richard E. Hall in 1993; her parents, Henry and Hattie (Kaiser) Barker; three sisters, Inis Barker, Pearly Barker and Mattie Dowdy; and seven brothers, William, Jess, Melvin, Ernest, Jack, Berkley & Walter Barker. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Dave Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
