Lois C. Malycke's Obituary
Lois C. (Neff) Malycke, 96, formerly of Alliance, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.
Born on December 29, 1921 in Dayton, to Elmer and Nora (Lentz) Neff, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
Lois attended Union Avenue United Methodist Church and was a librarian at Rodman Public Library, Mount Union College, and the Dayton VA Hospital Library.
She graduated from Ohio University with a BA in English and also graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Library Science.
Lois enjoyed reading books and spending time with her family. Her sense of humor and playfulness will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three daughters, Lucy (David) Downs of Green, Sue (Dennis) Middleton of Hartville, and Karin (Raymond) Dridge of Virginia Beach, VA; her son, Dan (Joy) Malycke of Purcellville, VA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Steven Malycke, whom she married on October 20, 1945 and who died on September 13, 2011; her parents; a sister, Miriam Davis; and a brother, Myron Neff.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Mt. Union Cemetery.
