Lloyd William Johnson's Obituary
Lloyd W. Johnson, 82, of Elizabethton, TN, formerly of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on May 4, 1928, in Georgetown, WV and was the son of the late James Webster and Verna (Crow) Johnson. Lloyd moved to Elizabethton in 2006 but lived most of his life in the Alliance and Sebring areas. He retired from the East Ohio Gas Company. Mr. Johnson was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, of sixty-four years, Ruth Johnson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Bourke of Hampton, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. James and Bonnie Johnson of Palm Harbor, FL and John and Marcia Johnson of Rogers, OH; ten grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Jean Marshall of OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a foster son, Albert Jackson; a sister, Rosalee Kathleen Scott; a brother, James Alfred McCullough; and a great-granddaughter, Savanna Lindsey. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, TN on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Greenwell officiating. Local Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Lloyd s son, the Rev. James L. Johnson of Harvest Baptist Church officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
