Linda Jean Brooks' Obituary
Linda Jean (Steed) Brooks, 81, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at her home in Alliance, Ohio.
Born in Alliance on August 1, 1942, she lived in Alliance all of her life.
A 1960 graduate of Alliance High School, Linda attended the Alliance First Friends Church.
Linda enjoyed walking, knitting, crocheting, and liked to play solitaire.
Survivors include two daughters, Heidi (Dennis) Shreve of Alliance and Sarah (Vance) Harrison of Toledo; her son, David (Carla) Brooks of Alliance; a grandson, Matthew (Leah Kehner); three granddaughters, Ellie (Nick), Sophia and Katelyn; two great-grandsons, Max and Ashton; as well as many other children who called her "Grandma Linda"; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Steed of Akron and Willonette Steed of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Kenneth R. Brooks, whom she married on June 1, 1963 and who died on May 29, 2013; her mother, Edna Steed; three brothers, Thomas, Lewis and William Steed.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Russ Gumm, of the Alliance First Friends Church, officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
