Lillie (McPherson) Bardo's Obituary
Lillie McPherson Bardo, 89, of Alliance, died on Monday, November 24, 2008, at 6:37 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on August 1, 1919 in West Virginia, she had lived most of her life in Alliance, recently moving back to the area after 14 years in Texas. Mrs. Bardo had attended the Free Methodist Church and loved to work puzzles, watch T.V. and camp. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Howard) Byers of Alliance; three sons, Gerald (Alberta) McPherson, Sr. of Alliance, Leonard McPherson of Alliance and Edward (Wanda) McPherson of Irving, TX; 35 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Herbert McPherson in 1970, whom she married in 1935; her second husband, Herbert Bardo; three sons, Herbert Jr., Russell and William McPherson; and her parents, Ira and Burley (Barr) Bateman. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Delaney of Calvary Baptist Church in Salem, officiating. Interment will take place at Alliance City Cemetery.
