Lillian S. Taylor's Obituary
Lillian S. Taylor, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord, on Sunday morning, December 2, 2007, at her home. Born on December 1, 1919, in NJ, she had lived in Alliance since 1978. Lillian always led a strong faith-filled life, centered around her family and her Lord and God. Lillian s heart, hands, and humor touched countless lives. She had a gift for knowing the needs of others and acted vigorously to fulfill those needs. While in New Jersey, she was active in the Woman s Club, where she tirelessly worked with institutions for the mentally and physically challenged. Privately she provided Christmas clothing and toys for an orphanage for many years, and school clothing for children who were without. While battling cancer, she kept such an optimistic outlook that she was requested by the doctors to go visit and encourage others facing the same battle. She was a simple lady with incredible strength. In Ohio, she was a member of the Limaville Lions, providing help and activities for local nursing homes and helped plan and implement fund raisers, and holiday celebrations for the community. She loved cooking and planning parties. She celebrated life with an enthusiasm that few people know. No matter what her personal struggles were her cup was more than half-full, it was over-flowing. During her work career she had supervisory positions in manufacturing, and became the manager of a large department store in New Jersey. In Ohio she worked as a cook at Mount Union College retiring one month before here 80th birthday. She leaves behind two daughters; Hildagard (Bruce) Bixler of Alliance and Estelle (Lee) Cattell of Maryland; two sons; Mark (Cindy) Taylor of Alliance and Guy (Kathy) Taylor of New Jersey; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, James H. Taylor in 1995; her parents, David and Sarah (Roth) Solomon; and ten siblings. Private calling hours were held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Private family services were held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2007. Interment followed at the Limaville Cemetery in Limaville.
