Lester E. Woods' Obituary
Lester E. Woods, 89, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:17 pm at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born on June 5, 1929 in Bridgeport, Ohio to James E. and Luella (Darah) Woods, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
Lester was member of Truth Baptist Church of Atwater.
He was employed at Teledyne Monarch Rubber and retired after 26 years of service.
Lester enjoyed rabbit, squirrel and coon hunting, square dancing, watching Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes, and especially loved taking care of his lawn and garden.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. (Lacher) Woods, whom he married on December 12, 1948; his daughter, Janet (Ben) Favazzo of Alliance; two sons, Glenn (Patricia) Woods of Alliance and Ronald (Ann) Woods of O'Fallon, MO; six grandchildren, Justin (Robin) Woods, Katie (Andy) Lubiewski, Scott (Jeannie) Woods, Kurtis (Kristy) Woods, Katrina Woods and Kimberly (Alex) Tomiser; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Luella "Marie" Harding, Edith Theaker and Martha Elceser; and three brothers, Herbert, James "Bud" and John Woods.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Roy Teague, of Truth Baptist Church of Atwater, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
