Lester S. Steves' Obituary
Lester S. Steves, 84, of Alliance, died on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 6:40 p.m. at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on March 30, 1923 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of his life. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Mr. Steves worked for McCammon Heating, where he was employed as an installer. He was a member of the Jim Beam Club and the V.F.W. Post 6730. Lester is survived by his wife, Marie (Floor) Steves whom he married on November 9, 1963; a step-son, William M. Drexler of Minerva; two sisters, Mary Woolf of North Georgetown, and Helen Gobely of North Georgetown; a brother Elmer Steves of Minerva; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nina (Duncan) Steves; two sisters, Anabelle Bischel and Isabelle Fankhouser; and a brother, George W. Steves. A Memorial Service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeffery Davis of Bethel United Church of Christ officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
