Lester D. King's Obituary
Lester D. King, 83, of Alliance, died on Sunday, March 9, 2003, at 4:10 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Sebring on February 22, 1920, he graduated from Beloit High School and lived all of his life in the Beloit and Alliance area. Mr. King was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and had been employed at Royal China, Alliance Ware for 20 years, and retired with 17 years of service from Chrysler in Twinsburg as a welder. He was a volunteer for the Alliance Hot Stove League. He is survived his wife, Arlene M. (Hicks) whom he married on December 10, 1945; four children, Tim W. King, Collette R. Venables, Terry L. King, and Christina M. Brienza, all of Alliance; ten grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Barcus of Springfield, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, Danny Lee King; his parents, Charles N. and Lucinda (Peterson) King; three sisters, Clara Cardinal, Leona Baxter, and Mary Rich; and two brothers, Delmer Barcus and Edgar Barcus. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Alliance City Cemetery.
