Leslie A. Muniz's Obituary
Leslie A. Muniz, 78, of Hanoverton passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Born November 15, 1945 in Pennsylvania, he married his wife, Claudia, June 15, 1963.
He has been a resident of Hanoverton since purchasing Pine Hill Farm in 1980. He served in the Navy from 1963-1966 as a machine repairman on the USS Orion in Norfolk, Virginia.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy he held different machine jobs until being hired at General Motors (Lordstown) in 1972. He retired in 2002, in the Zeiss Room as a Panel Checker in Quality Control. He also ran a small machine shop on the farm.
He enjoyed the love and attention of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved fishing, hunting and working in and around the lake he put in himself. He was a hard worker and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren about daily farming.
He learned to play banjo and liked to carve figurines out of wood. He was a born again Christian and enjoyed reading the bible regularly.
He is survived by his son Tony (Huijun) Muniz, of Hampton, Virginia; two daughters, Marcy (Marvin) Aberegg of Sebring and Angie (Lenny) VonFeldt of Hanoverton; two brothers, Ramon Muniz of Sebring and Art Muniz of Homeworth; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Aniceto Muniz; sister Ruthie Muniz; a granddaughter, Jessica Muniz; and his wife of 40 years, Claudia Jeanne Muniz.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm.
