Leonard "Giz" Menendez's Obituary
Leonard "Giz" Menendez, 53, of Sebring, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2003. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on January 9, 1950, he had been a resident of the Alliance area most of his life. A Viet Nam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Mr. Menendez was employed at Ravenna Aluminum and had previously been employed at Green Steel in Alliance for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, and watching football and baseball. He is survived by his ex-wife, Janet Menendez of Alliance; a son, Bradley Menendez of Alliance; two sisters, Mary Menendez of Kent and Carolyn (Greg) Luzader of Kent; four brothers, David Menendez of Brimfield, Richard (Dian) Menendez of Rootstown, Bill of Mt. Dora, FL, and Donny (Scharee) of Randolph; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Menendez in 1994; and his parents, Leonard and Alice (Moore) Menendez. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
