Lena B. Artino's Obituary
Lena B. Artino, 87, of Alliance, died on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 9:55 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. A lifelong resident of Alliance, Lena was born on May 29, 1920 and was a graduate of Alliance High School. Mrs. Artino retired from the S. P. Brown Draperies and Harless Company, where she was employed as a seamstress specializing in draperies and curtains. Lena was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was the past president of the Altar & Rosary Society and was a "Woman of the Year" award recipient. She was a member of St. Joseph s Victoria Mission Circle, Infant of Prague Guild, and the Funtastiks. She was a member of the Catholic Women s Club and a past member of the K of C Auxiliary. Lena was also a member of the Roma Society. She enjoyed many hobbies including reading, sewing, cooking, and flower gardening. Lena is survived by her husband, Virgil C. "Red" Artino, whom she married on May 22, 1947; two daughters, Barbara Artino and Suzanne (George) Dennis, both of Alliance; two sons, Robert V. (Corrine) Artino of North Canton, and Richard R. (Cindy) Artino of Hudson; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace J. Azzocchi of Sebring; a cousin, Rev. Fr. Joseph Cappelletti of Painsville; and a nephew, Jerry Artino of Spring, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Fulvia (Onorati) Azzocchi. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, Rev. Msgr. James A. Kolp and Rev. Fr. Joseph Cappelletti as con-celebrants. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
