Len J. Paletti's Obituary
Len J. Paletti, 81, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning with his family by his side. He was born on August 29, 1933 in Alliance, Ohio to Lino and Mary (Bonazza) Paletti and lived in Alliance for all of his life. He was a graduate of Alliance High School and served our country in the U.S. Army. Len retired as an Electrician from LTV Steel & Alliance Machine. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Council #533. He was also a member of the Dante Aligheri Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Alliance VFW Post 1036, and the Trentino Alpine Club. Len enjoyed golfing, dancing, music and watching his grandchildren play sports. Len is survived by his two daughters, Marie (Jim) Cowgill of Alliance, Angelina (Hawk) (Allen) Benfield of Marietta, GA; two sons, Joseph Paletti of Wilmington, NC and Steven Paletti of Columbus, OH; two grandsons, Lyle Cowgill and Lino Paletti; his lifelong companion, Betty Patterson of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ann Coco and Mabel Coco; and a brother, Henry Gelmini. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, as celebrant. Interment, with military honors, will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
