Lee Sherwood's Obituary
Lee Sherwood, 81, of Alliance, died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 28, 2003. Born in Bismarck, North Dakota, on October 14, 1921, he had attended North Dakota State University and had lived in the Alliance area for the last 50 years. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Sherwood had retired from the Babcock & Wilcox Co. in 1983 after 45 years of service. Lee and his wife Frances had devoted their lives to their children and grandchildren; four daughters and their spouses, Geralyn (Jim) Noble of Las Vegas, Becky (Doug) Zeigler of Atwater, Laura (Mike) Florea of Alliance, and Beth (Joe) Corbi of Hartville; eight sons and their spouses, Mark Sherwood of Alliance, David (Linda) Sherwood of G Lexington, KY, Tom (Aiko) Sherwood of Akron, Kevin (Linda) Sherwood of N. Canton, Gary (Cathy) Sherwood of Uniontown, Terry (Gerry) Sherwood of Gainesboro, TN, Bob (Theresa) Sherwood of Oakley, CA, and Brian (Cassie) Sherwood of Magnolia, CA; 35 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters; lone Zbytovsky of Rittman. and Peggy Deibel of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Raymond Sherwood of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife Frances E. (Thesing) Sherwood on August 6, 2002; they were married on Sept. 12, 1942; his parents, Ray C. & Sopha (Thomas) Sherwood; a daughter, Judith Sherwood Newton in 1981; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Sherwood (Mark's wife). Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, March 31, 2003, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling- Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
