Lawrence J. Raga's Obituary
Lawrence J. Raga, 84, of Beloit, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 9:32 pm at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Born on March 22, 1935 in Alliance, to Pete and Edith (Maffei) Raga, he lived in Beloit all of his life.
A 1953 Alliance High School, Larry was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Larry was employed at Babcock & Wilcox as a pipe fitter and retired after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Dante Alighieri Society and the Christopher Columbus Society.
Larry enjoyed wood working and raising animals on his hobby farm.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Marie Bullock of Beloit, Cathleen Rae Meyers of Sebring and Christine Kay Smith of Beloit; two sons, Ronald A. Raga of Beloit and John L. Raga of Damascus; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Raga of Alliance and Richard Raga of TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Jo (Fotheringham) Raga, whom he married on March 15, 1955 and who died on August 7, 2011; and his parents.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Dyer, as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
