Larry E. Evans' Obituary
Larry E. Evans, 58, of 2434 Homeworth Rd., Alliance, died in his sleep at his home on Friday, October 18, 2002. Born in Alliance on Oct. 11, 1944, he had been a resident of Alliance for all of his life. A veteran of Vietnam, he served in the U.S. Army and received the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1036 and the American Legion, Post 166. Mr. Evans received his education from the Alliance City School System and was the owner of C & L Wholesale Floral. He had been in the wholesale floral industry for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Carol A. (Bowman) Evans, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1991; two daughters, Amanda Evans and Michele Temples both of Alliance; a son Harry Evans of Colorado; a step-son William Bo,wman of Alliance; five grandchildren, Austin Bauer, Wyatt Temples, Amy Temples, Vivian temples and Chris Loshark (Bowman); three sisters, Beverly Teague of Alliance, Silvia Sally Tasker of Atwater and Sandie Fargo of Atwater; a brother Gary Evans of Homeworth; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lavern Spike Evans and Ellen (Moorehead) Evans Carducci; a step-daughter Christine Teeters; and a brother Harry Evans. The family will receive close friends and relatives at their home on Friday from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. A private funeral service and interment with Military Honors will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
