Larry D. Chiporo's Obituary
Larry D. "Cowboy" Chiporo, 63, of Alliance, died on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 4:43 p.m. at Regency Hospital in Ravenna. He was born on June 4, 1943 in Alliance and was a lifetime resident here. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A coach and umpire for many years with the Hot Stove Baseball League, he also enjoyed music, woodworking, painting, hunting & fishing. Mr. Chiporo retired form First National Foods in Maple Heights, Ohio as an Inspector after 35 years of service. He leaves behind his longtime companion, Sherry Courtney; two daughters and son-in-laws, Deana and Eric Couture of Medina, OH and Angela Cline and Dennis Gelmini of Alliance; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Salvatore and Courtney Chiporo of Dover, DE and Larry D. and Ashley Chiporo, Jr. of Alliance; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Marjorie (Charles) Porter of Alliance, Patricia (Joseph) Virden of Alliance, Rose Carpenter of Sebring, Linda Edwards of Alliance and Frances Kirby of Alliance; two brothers, Thomas R. Chiporo of Parma and Danny Sayers of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents, Salvatore and Rose F. (Perry) Chiporo; a son-in-law, David Cline; two sisters, Christina Sayers and Jenny M. Borland; and a brother, Sam T. Chiporo. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4, 2007, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, March 5, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
