Kenneth H. Smith's Obituary
Kenneth H. Smith, 79, of Berlin Center, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at 6:50 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Canton on February 14, 1924, he was a former resident of Marlboro. Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy and he retired from the Amster-Kurtz Co.He is survived by his three daughters, Dianne Mathie of Columbiana, Linda Menkhaus of Cincinnati and Annette Martin of Marlboro; four sons, Lee Smith of Berlin Center, Timothy Smith of Alliance, Denny Smith of Grove City and Randy Smith of Alliance; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his mother, Bertha (Obney) Smith of Uniontown; two sisters, Mary Bowman of San Antonio, TX and Dorine Machamer of Uniontown; a brother, Donald Smith of Sebring, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Gertrude (Saunier) Smith on October 4, 1999, they were married on March 16, 1946; his granddaughter, Christina Smith; his father, Earl T. Smith; and a brother Glen Smith. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, 2003, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Crites, officiating. Interment will follow at Marlboro Cemetery.
