Kenneth B. Pettit's Obituary
Kenneth B. Pettit, 75, of Salem, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 5:44 p.m. at Salem Community Hospital. He was born on March 16, 1936 in Clay County, W.Va., and lived in Alliance most of his life. Kenneth attended Damascus United Methodist Church and retired from the American Steel Foundries, where he was employed as a Chipper. In his past-time, Kenneth enjoyed playing music and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Bishop) Pettit, whom he married on January 10, 1969; two daughters, Pam (Bill Lyda) Court of Salem and Jessica Pettit of the home; a son, Larry (Tammy) Perry of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren; four sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Elizabeth Pettit; his son, Timothy Perry; his parents, Thayer and Mabel (Sears) Pettit; several sisters and brothers. The family will receive friends at Damascus United Methodist Church on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the church at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Mick Foster, Pastor of Damascus United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
