Kenneth Ray Myers' Obituary
Kenneth Ray Myers, 74, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center at 11:20 a.m. He was born on September 20, 1936 in Paris, Ohio, and lived in Paris and Alliance all of his life. He attended New Franklin and Maple Ridge Elementary Schools. Kenny was a member of Freeburg Church of the Brethren. He retired from the Akron Foundry where he was employed as a molder. Mr. Myers was a member of the Maple Ridge Ruritans, Maple Ridge Boy Scouts Troop 153, and the Smith Township Zoning Board. In his past-time, he enjoyed traveling, camping, home remodeling, and gardening. Kenny is survived by his wife, Vanda Ellen (Stuckey) Myers whom he married on June 1, 1956; two daughters, Yvonne (Mike) Baumgartner of Alliance and Deborah (Tim) Fortune of Yorktown, VA; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Wolfe of Joplin, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a son, Burel "Butch" Myers; his parents, Ralph L. and Lova (Martin) Myers; a sister, Crystal Vannoy; and a brother, Ralph W. Myers. A Memorial Service will be held at the Freeburg Church of the Brethren on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Zeller officiating. There will be no calling hours.
