Kenneth L. Clayton's Obituary
Kenny L. Clayton, 66, of Sebring, died on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 9:40 a.m., at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born on May 3, 1944, in Alliance, and lived in Sebring most of his life. Kenny was a graduate of Alliance High School and had been employed at Gem Clay before entering the service. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War and received the Purple Heart. Mr. Clayton attended the Atwater Congregational Church. Kenny was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 and a member of the Sebring VFW Post #6730. He was a coach for Girls Softball in the Alliance League. He enjoyed listening to music and bowling. Kenny loved to fish, being in the sun, and spending time with his family. His special love was his children and grandchildren. Kenny is survived by his partner in life since 1987, Rose Carpenter; two daughters, Tonia (Karl) Bultrowicz of Leesburg, VA, Tammy (Tom) Graber of Homeworth, OH; step-daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Webster of Cincinnati, OH; step-son, Randy (Kendra) Carpenter of Alliance; 11 loving grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Lou) Clayton and Donnie Clayton, both of Alliance; a step-brother, William (Maryann) Clayton of Alliance; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Scott Edwards, Larry and Frances "Peanut" Kirby, and Danny and Helen Sayers; father-in-law, Arthur Sayers; very special friend, Sam Mecca; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Dave and Fern (Connolly) Clayton; his twin sister, Sandra Clayton; and his pride and joy, his cat, Smokey. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry Kruse of the Atwater Congregational Church officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Sebring VFW Post 6730 will follow at Highland Memorial Park. The family will gather at 800 West Milton St. following the services.
