Kathryn D. "Kay" McCoy's Obituary
Kathryn D. "Kay" McCoy, 84, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 5:30 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Iernut, Romania on May 2, 1921, she had lived in Alliance since 1957. Kay had previously owned the Raven Restaurant and had worked in retail sales for the former Schwartz s and for Lingenfelter-Brill. She retired from Sears and was a member of the Sears Retirees. Mrs. McCoy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Maximo. Kay is survived by her children, Hanna (Richard) McCloud of North Topsail Beach, NC, Charles "Dick" (Connie) McCoy of Charlotte, NC, Larry McCoy of Alliance, and Mary Ann McCoy of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Dora (Telgaru) Simon; and a brother, Michael Simon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Maximo on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Ungashick officiating. There will be no calling hours.
