Kathryn Fairbanks' Obituary
Kathryn Fairbanks, 92, of Sebring, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009, at 10:30 p.m., under the loving care of the nurses at Alterra Sterling House of Alliance. Born on July 15, 1916 in Alliance, she lived in Sebring for most of her life. Kathryn was an active member of St. Ann s Church in Sebring, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught catechism for many years. Mrs. Fairbanks retired from the Sebring Water Office after more than 40 years of service. Previously, she worked in Washington, DC, for the Department of the Treasury. Kathryn is survived by her grandchildren, Sally K. Ailes of Alliance, Joel M. (Lana) Ailes of Gilroy, CA, Margaret (Brian) Gothot of Westlake, and Mary E. (James) Soltys of Victor, NY; nine great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Faber Fairbanks; a step-daughter, Dorothy L. Ailes; a great-grandson, Jeramy Ailes; her parents, Matthew and Lucille (Gargovic) Braidic; three sisters, Margaret Herman, Frances Fugatt and Dorothy Ardale; and two brothers, George and Ed Braidic. The family will receive friends at St. Ann s Church in Sebring on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ann s Catholic Church in Sebring on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Dyer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
