Kathleen "Cassie" "Kitty" (Heastand) BonDurant's Obituary
Kathleen "Cassie" "Kitty" (Heastand) BonDurant, 89, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2004, after a short illness. She was born on December 5, 1914, in Alliance, to Curtis L. and Margaret Brady Heastand and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Bondurant graduated from Alliance High School in 1933. She was a secretary in the medical records department of Alliance City Hospital for many years before becoming the executive secretary for Heastand Auto Parts, where she remained until her retirement. She was active in the Alliance Association of Secretaries and the Alliance Quota Club for many years. She attended the First Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Cliff BonDurant. The couple spent their retirement wintering in Lakeland, Florida where she will be missed by many dear friends. Kathleen was a loving mother to Janeen Elise (Gary) Mason of Alliance, and Curtis Cliffton (Cindy Mangus) BonDurant of Lynchburg, Virginia. She was also a beloved grandmother to five grandchildren, Chad Mason, Denise Mason Ream, Rachel Mason Myers, Stephanie BonDurant (Adam) Grandy and Matthew BonDurant; and three great grandchildren, Victoria Ream, Noah Myers and Jack Grandy. She is also survived by her sister, Theda Faubel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lois H. Wright A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Thomas officiating. Private graveside services and interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
