Katherine "Katie" (Erchick) Short's Obituary
Katherine M. "Katie" (Erchick) Short, 87, of Alliance, died on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 10:50 p.m. at Aultman Hospital. She was born on May 20, 1920 in Donora, PA, and lived in Alliance most of her life. Mrs. Short was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was active for many years in various church organizations, including, the former Women s Guild, the Funtastiks and was also a Eucharistic Minister. Katie was a member of the Alliance Senior Center and had retired from the Kroger s Grocery Store, where she was employed as a clerk for 27 years. She is survived by her sister, Clara King of Beaumont, TX; four brothers, Steve, Charles and Joe (Terry) Erchick of Alliance and William Erchick of Middlesex, NJ; and 105 great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph J. Short on July 27, 1971; her parents, Joseph and Catherine (Tegi) Erchick; three sisters, Marie Korleski, Josephine Dellis, Julia Woolf, and an infant sister, Catherine Erchick; and two brothers Julius and Louis Erchick. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
