Katherine I. "Katy" Ruff's Obituary
Katherine I. "Katy" Ruff, 73, of Alliance, passed suddenly on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at her home. Born on August 10, 1935 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance all of her life and was a private health care provider, retiring after 30 years of service. Mrs. Ruff was an avid Indians fan, a devoted fan of George Jones and also enjoyed reading. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Katy is survived by her children, Mark (Virginia) Ruff of Alliance, Matthew (Christine) Ruff of Sebring, Michelle (Keith) Stryffeler of Homeworth and Melanie (Todd) Longobardi of Alliance; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her siblings, Cecilia Eckert, John (Ulla) McMahan, Carol Eckert, Frank (Susan) McMahan and Eleanor (George) Blake; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Francis Ruff in 1982; an infant son, Steven Ruff; her parents, Ira and Idella (Hartzell) McMahan; a sister, Betty Dorsey; a brother, Chuck McMahan; and a niece and a nephew. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Homeworth Fire Dept. Hall on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
