Katherine "Katie" Ritchie's Obituary
Our dear mother, Katherine "Katie" Ritchie, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2003, at 4:35 p.m. at the Community Care Center. Born in Salem, Ohio on July 7, 1915, she was a resident of the North Georgetown area all her life. She retired from Ohio Tool and Drill of Homeworth after 34 years of service. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty (Eldon S.) Heestand of Homeworth, and Shirley DiCristafaro of N. Georgetown; her seven grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Randy Heestand, Brenda McCoy, Dan Heestand, Debra Ramsayer, Stephanie Shack, Shawn Ray, and Bobbi McCartney; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild; a sister, Marie Probert of Shadyside; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ritchie on December 8, 1989 (they were married on December 24, 1937); her parents, Andrew and Katrina Kastenhuber; a sister, Hilda Lehman; and three brothers, Jacob, Walter and Andrew Kastenhuber. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2003, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Vernon E. Russell, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
