Katharina Cibulas' Obituary
Katharina Cibulas, age 57, of Alliance, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Kathy was born on September 3, 1957 in Alliance, Ohio to Zoltan J. Cibulas and Katharina (Kisik) Cibulas and lived in Alliance all of her life.
Kathy graduated from Alliance High School in 1975 and was a member of the Alliance High School Marching Band, National Honor Society and Future Teachers of America.
A 1979 graduate of Mount Union College, Kathy studied music and played several instruments, including clarinet, bass-clarinet, flute, piano and organ. She was also a member of the Mount Union Purple Raiders Marching Band.
Kathy was employed by Giant Eagle (formerly Buckeye Village Market) in Alliance as a cashier and front-end coordinator. She was a Giant Eagle Proud Team Member since July 9, 1975.
Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she had previously taught Sunday School for nine years.
She is survived by her mother, Katharina (Kisik) Cibulas; and her brother, Joseph A Cibulas, both of the home; her sister, Cynthia M. Dasco; brother-in-law, Ronald L. Dasco; and her very special niece, Lyndsay K. Dasco, all of Canton, OH; her brother, Michael A. Cibulas of North Canton, OH; her cousin, Walter J. (Tracy) Reutski; her aunt, Lydia (John) Kisik-Welch, all of Alliance; and several cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Zoltan J. Cibulas on September 14, 1988.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 427 E. Broadway, Alliance, OH 44601.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Cortese (all of his nurses and staff); Dr. John R. Karlen; and Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice for their special care they gave to Kathy during her illness.
