Karl A. Krahling's Obituary
Karl A. Krahling, 71, of Alliance, died on Friday, May 21, 2010, at 2:40 a.m., at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on June 28, 1938 in Alliance, and lived in the Alliance and Beloit areas all of his life. A 1956 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, Karl retired after 26 years from Hercules Engines, where he built industrial and military engines. He was also a truck driver and drove as an independent and as well for Cintas, Mac Trailer and others. He was a U. S. Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1959 as an engineer, with some of that time deployed in France. Mr. Krahling was a member of the Alliance Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Past Master (1989) and current member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge #271 and was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Snyder of Alliance and Cindy Wilson of Alliance; two grandchildren, Tonya Sedei of Alliance and Rhonda Meadows of Louisville; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Hudgens of Beloit; special friend, Carole Tucker; one niece, Christy Hudgens of Sebring; and three nephews, Gary (Betty) Hudgens of Akron, Kurt (Shelba) Hudgens of N. Canton, and Eric Hudgens of Beloit. Preceding him in death was his wife, Juanita Faye (Turner) Krahling on July 5, 2002; his parents, Kurt and Ethel (Wuthrick) Krahling; and a great-nephew, Timothy Hudgens. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Masonic service conducted by Conrad Masonic Lodge #271 will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Alliance Freewill Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Jimmie Holbrook officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
