Karen Skivolocke became a very special lady to me while residing at her last apartment at Alliance Towers, here in Alliance, Ohio before moving to the place mentioned, in Salem, Ohio where she lived out the last couple of years of her life. I will always remember Karen as her & I became fast friends & had it not been for her wonderfully contagious sense of humor, I wouldn't have enjoyed half of my first couple of years as I did! As a matter of fact, this apartment complex hasn't been the same since she left, & I missed her dearly after she left. A few of my fondest memories with her was when she would invite me to her apartment & we would share egg salad sandwiches (she made the best), or we'd share icecream bars, or sometimes both. Many residents will tell you, truth be told, how deeply missed she was. There will never be another Karen Skivolocke, as she was a unique lady that was definitely one of a kind. I had the pleasure of meeting her daughter, Sandi, who came here & moved Karen's belongings out of here. She looks so much like her & having been blessed even beyond that as she seems to share the same sense of humor. Her & I hit it off immediately upon meeting, which came as no surprise to me. Being able to share on here a bit about how her mother blessed my heart just seems like such an understatement, because had you gotten a chance to know her, you would understand; she was quite a unique soul, & God knows that I sure did love her. I will be forever grateful for having had the opportunity to get to know her. My prayers are with you, Sandi, & the rest of her family during this time of sorrow..
