Karen M. Oyster's Obituary
Karen Margaret (Sembach) Oyster, 67, of Alliance, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 12:44 am at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1956 in Newark, New Jersey to Lawrence "Butch" and Clara (Oliphant) Sembach, she lived in Alliance most of her life.
A 1974 Newton Falls High School graduate, Karen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Karen referred to herself as a Domestic Goddess.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening and canning, fishing, bingo, casinos, and had an obsession with Purple Martins.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Steven Oyster whom she married on August 2, 1975; two daughters, Allyson Oyster of Alliance and Megan (Jacob) McPhail of South Bend, IN; two sons, Joshua (Laura) Oyster of Basile, LA and Adam (Mara) Oyster of Madison, WI; six grandchildren, Lauren Oyster, Gabriel Fontenot, Lily Fontenot, Samuel Oyster, Claire Oyster, Mackenzie Oyster and future grandchild, Willow McPhail; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her two brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Sembach and David Sembach.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. G. David Weikart, of Catholic Church, as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
