Karen Mylar's Obituary
Karen S. (Penny) Mylar, 72, of Alliance, unexpectedly passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born on March 17, 1952 in Alliance to Kenneth and Betty J. (Kniseley) Penny, she lived in the Alliance area most of her life and attended West Branch High School
Karen was a member of Beechwood Christian Church.
She retired from JC Penny after 30 years of service.
Karen enjoyed shopping, traveling, arts and crafts and decorating.
She loved going to lunch and dinner with her girlfriends. She was an outgoing person and never knew a stranger that she couldn’t talk to.
Survivors include her husband, David J. Mylar, whom she married on August 18, 1990; her children, Matthew Mylar, Sam Oyer and Jennifer Simmons; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Mylar, Monica Peters, David Mylar, Johnathon Reed, Christopher Mylar, Graham Oyer, Elijah Mylar and Logan Oyer; a brother, Tom Penny; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother, Kenny Penny.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
