Karen M. (Dusek) Pugh Mercer's Obituary
Karen M. (Dusek) Pugh Mercer, 61, of Homeworth, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Born in Alliance on February 26, 1941, she had been a resident of the Alliance area for most of her life. A 1959 Graduate of Alliance High School, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Services from Kent State University. She was a Licensed Social Worker for Alliance Emergency Shelter and for Kent State University Salem Branch. Survivors include her children Shannon (Joseph) Wenzel, Sharree (Jeff) Bench, Anne-Marie (Richard) Moore, Gregory (Jodie) Pugh, and Christopher (Angela) Pugh, all of Alliance, Tiffany Thorn, Monique Mercer and twins, Jillian & Michael Mercer, all of Beloit; 8 grandchildren; 4 nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Michael and Madelyn (Flynn) Dusek; and a brother, Lowell Dusek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, February 7, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. There will be no calling hours and the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
