Karen Lee Blaser's Obituary
Karen Lee Blaser, 66, of Alliance, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born on September 5, 1949 in Alliance, to the late Charles and Goldie (Grecu) Songer, she lived in Alliance for all of her life.
A 1967 Alliance High School graduate, she also graduated Cumma Sum Laude from Kent State University with a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Karen was employed at Robert Bycroft School in Lisbon as a Speech Language Pathologist and retired on June 8, 2015 after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood. She also volunteered at the Alliance Food Pantry and Alliance Early Learning School.
Karen was a Reiki Master and contributed in writing a blog for the Hypoglycemia Support Foundation, Inc. Continuing in her spirit of giving, she donated her body to North Eastern Ohio Medical School.
Survivors include her high school sweetheart, Keith Blaser, whom she married on January 8, 1972; two daughters, Briana Blaser of Alliance and Rebetha (Andy) Yarian of Newark, OH; two grandchildren, Vinnie Schmied and Drew Yarian; and her great-grandson, Paxton Mesek.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 p.m. at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
