June G. Hoover's Obituary
June G. Hoover, 91, of Alliance, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 11:20 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on June 24, 1919 in Alliance, she lived here all of her life and received her education thru the Alliance School System. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Maximo since 1941. And was also a member of their Altar & Rosary Society. She was very involved with her church and helped with many activities over the years. June enjoyed taking care of her home, playing cards, gardening, sewing, cooking and especially helping others. Survivors include two sons, Bob (Mary Ann) Hoover of Alliance and John "Bill" (Barbara) Hoover of Homeworth; a daughter, Judy (Chuck) Searfoss of Alliance; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Lee of Sebring; two sisters-in-law, Lita Carman of Westminster, CA and Mae Hoover of Maximo; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, John C. Hoover, Jr. on June 12, 1978, whom she married on October 17, 1936; her parents, Perry John and Beatrice (Wogan) Carman; two sisters, Opal Wagner and Wilberta Moulin; and two brothers, William "Bud" Carman and John Carman. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo on Monday, August 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Ungashick, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Maximo.
