June M. Hoopes' Obituary
June M. Hoopes, 84, of Alliance, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 6:47 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1926 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance all of her life. In her past-time, she followed Alliance Aviator Football, was a huge Minnesota Viking fan, enjoyed tanning and listening to country music. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherri (Paul) Ray of Alliance and Joan Justice of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Don (Jan) Hoopes of Alliance and Craig (Sondra) Hoopes of Xenia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, William Hoopes on August 14, 1987, whom she married in November of 1946; her parents, Basil and Emma (Good) McCann; a sister, Dorothy; and five brothers, Bernard, Don, Walter, Pete and Harold. A memorial service will be held at the Alliance City Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with her son, Craig Hoopes, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow.
