Joseph J. Yaskulka's Obituary
Joseph J. Yaskulka, 86, of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 7:25 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance.
Born on September 14, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph J. and Sally (Kossakowski) Yaskulka, he lived in Alliance for most of his life.
A 1950 graduate of East High School, he served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW in Alliance and Louisville, DAV, American Legion, and the Korean Conflict Veterans.
Joseph was member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
He was employed at Marlboro Manufacturing as Plant Superintendent and retired in 1996 after 44 years of service.
Joseph was a member of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years where he served as a Captain.
Joseph enjoyed model building, fishing, bowling, golfing, and was an all-around handyman.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor (Kofler) Yaskulka, whom he married on September 10, 1955; two daughters, Laura (Mike) Grimstad of Salem and Lynn (Joe) Sickle of Findlay; his son, Gregory (JoAnn) Yaskulka of Poland; four grandchildren, Beckie (Jesse) Daugherty, Erik (Alyssa) Sickle, Brendan Yaskulka and Zachary Yaskulka; a brother, Edward (Carol) Yaskulka of Westville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, with Rev. Joseph Ruggieri, of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, as celebrant. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
