Joseph H. Yagusich's Obituary
Joseph "Hap" Yagusich, 87, of Alliance, died on Monday, November 26, 2007, at 9:50 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Hap was born on February 8, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA, and lived in Alliance most of his life. He was a U. S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II(1942-1945). He was a staff sergeant in the 745th Bomb Squardron 456th Bomb Group (H), serving as a tailgunner on a B-24 and flying out of North Africa Mr. Yagusich retired after 35 years of service from B & W Tubular Products, where he was employed as a machine operator. Hap was a member of the DAV Chapter #50, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1036, and a lifetime member of B-24 Liberator Club. His hobbies were bowling, golfing, and walking. Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene G. (Vargo) Yagusich whom he married on October 31, 1945; and many nieces and nephews, Samuel Fodor of CA, Richard (Elva) Fodor of CA, Eugene (Donna) O Neil of CA, Patricia (Forrest) Barber of Alliance, Mary (Thomas) Hipkins of Bolivar, Bonnie (Robert) Reber of Alliance, Barbara Scovil of Garden Grove, CA, John (Diana) Priselac of Alliance, George (Iwana Ruth) Priselac of Salem, Mary Binion of Havelock, NC, Edward (Sidney) Priselac of Merritt Island, FL, Margaret Beardsley of Camron Park, CA, and Albert (Judy) Priselac of Danbury, TX. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Rosa (Lepsick) Priselac; two sisters, Mary Cambio and Kate Priselac; a brother, Matt Yagusih; nieces and nephews, Steven Priselac, Ann Priselac, Joseph Priselac and Agnes Snyder; and a step-nephew, Daniel Ivan. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2007, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
