Joseph A. Wilson 's Obituary
Former Alliance Funeral Director, Joseph A. “Joe” Wilson, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at home in Boynton Beach, Florida on July 1, 2015.
Joe was born on January 11, 1947 in Alliance, Ohio to Lloyd “Joe” and Kathleen “Kitty” Wilson. He attended The Ohio State University, graduated from Ashland University, and then continued his education at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Joe was a funeral director at Gutterman Warheit Memorial Chapel in Boca Raton for almost 30 years.
Joe was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye football fan and could be found most Saturdays during college football season at Bru’s Room Sports Grill cheering for the Buckeyes. He was also a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed showing his 1969 GTO at local car shows. Joe was also an avid golfer.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kitty Wilson; a sister, Kathy Wilson, who died at age 12 from leukemia; and beloved cat, Willow. He is survived by his fiancée, Shawn Pennell; son, Mark Wilson; daughter-in-law, Kimberley Wilson; grandson, Jeremy Wilson; and many dear friends.
Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Fairmount Memorial Park Chapel, 4199 S. Union Avenue, Alliance.
