Joseph R. Wahl's Obituary
Joseph R. “Joe” Wahl, 82, of Alliance, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, January 4, 2024 at home in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on June 25, 1941 in Akron to Joseph P. and Isabel M. (Fleming) Wahl, he lived in Alliance most of his life, graduating from Marlington High School in 1961.
Joseph served his country in the U.S. Army, and was then employed with Goodyear Aerospace, where he retired. He and Ruth attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo.
Joe was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the Alfa Romeo Club. He was considered an outdoorsman, enjoying traveling, hiking, fishing, camping, boating, water and snow skiing, but especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his significant other, Ruth Sundberg; his daughter, Jody (Bill) Lancaster; his son, Joseph (Jessica Sweeney) Wahl; two step-sons, David and Doug Johnson; a step-daughter, Debbie Johnson; three grandchildren, Becca, Haven and Tayla; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Arman, Judy Anderson and Mary (James) Barnhart; a brother, Dale (Jean) Wahl; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his twin sons; his wife, Marilyn Wahl and his parents.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Of Mary Catholic Church. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, www.st.jude.org.
